Mysticism weaves its way through this powerful and captivating Swedish drama about love and the power of hope. Among Us is a beautifully realised journey into a couples’ well-ordered and predictable lives suddenly thrown into emotional chaos by an accident. In an attempt to deal with the situation, an undermining rift in their relationship arises as the husband’s rational approach counters his wife’s search for a deeper meaning. Ultimately these different ‘takes’ threaten to undermine the core of their relationship.
Beautiful to look at and superbly acted, this film fully engages viewers; delving into the essence of our human and not so human natures.
