5 MINS | 2021 | DIRECTORS: VERSUS + ANGELA GOH | PRODUCER: TANYA BABIC | AUSTRALIA
Performance artist Angela Goh navigates the labyrinthian architecture of an imposing structure - becoming part of it in tactile and physical ways that make the building feel sensorial and the body dreamlike.
Getting lost is central to most people's experiences being inside Phoenix Central Park — doors lead to stairwells, lead to corridors, lead to other stairwells that look the same but are different, which lead to dark corners which turn onto underground levels, which through other doorways suddenly open out onto rooftops. Being inside Phoenix is like navigating a labyrinth. The building reveals itself in both puzzling and dazzling ways that feel like there is always more to discover.
