An immersive journey through three distant cultures in search of the origin of the breath of life. A spatial and spiritual exploration that moves through singing, sound, and voice, leading to the deepest connection with oneself. A path that evolves on the wave of sounds and the bodies that generate them, unveiling the essence of humanity.

In the Paneveggio woods of Italy, a red fir tree holds the secret of its own music. In Mongolia, a young boy searches for the primordial vibration of his own voice. In Australia, a descendant of the First Nations carries the circular sound of the didgeridoo across the land.

Director Simona Canonica weaves these three distinct journeys into a single, immersive meditation on breath - its discovery, its rhythm, and its transformation into song. Prioritising sound over image at every turn, the film asks audiences to listen more closely than they watch, tracing an ancient, universal thread that connects three vastly different cultures back to a single, shared origin.

SONG OF BREATH is a rare, meditative work of cinema - a reminder that before there was image, there was sound.
