SURF FILMS

Surf films have long been part of BBFF, and in 2026 many of the films below screen as part of three specially curated surf sessions, bringing together stories from different coastlines, cultures and perspectives.

Salt in Her Veins puts women’s experiences in the lineup front and centre. Magic Island + Q&A pairs the feature Magic Island with shorts exploring surfing, place, culture and belonging. And Onda Latina – Latin Wave brings together three Australian premieres from Chile and Brazil, looking at surfing through identity, spirituality, freedom and survival.
